1000 push-ups in 4 hours

just bet a guy that he could not do that

he took it for 50 im thinking about taking extra action from others

he's in excellent shape... 5 ' 8 " - 185 lbs 12% body fat

typically reps bench at 185 lbs 3 sets of 10

EZ money for me right? im betting he CANNOT do it

he has almost zero chance provided he hasnt been training for something like this specifically.

he originally offered 3000 in 24 (which i prob would have taken)

then he offered 1000 in 6... which i would have taken

but i countered with 4 (why not?) and he took it

honestly, the more i think this over in my head, even at 6 hrs you take it. as BigAl said, he has not trained for this specifically. he is going to be dying by 3rd hour

are you gonna be there to make sure that he's doing actual pushups and not girl pushups?

Re: 1000 push-ups in 4 hours

I guess it's all about the cumulative effect and how fatigued he gets. I'm not in good shape at all and I can do 40 push-ups in probably well less than 2 minutes. This guy ought to be able to do a set of 100 in under 5 minutes (average - the early ones should take less time). If he does 10 sets of 100, that works out to a little over 20 minutes to rest/stretch between sets. That doesn't sound too bad in theory, but it's all about how badly the earlier ones catch up with him by the end.
