New Move -- Pretend you didn\'t just fold

NL1/2 game and it's heads-up as one guy bets and the other flat calls the flop and turn. Fourth heart comes on the river and the original aggressor checks, and the calling station now bets his last $25 at a pot of maybe $120. First guy holds his cards up, flicks 'em and says something like "I can't call, I don't have a heart" and throws 'em to the dealer face up showing a straight. Other guy then turns his cards face up and shows he has a pair of kings with no heart. The guy who folded is looking a little ill.

So the dealer collects the cards, bundles the chips and pushes to the winner. The guy who folded then says "WAIT! I had a straight". I see about 6 jaws at the table drop, including the dealer's. Dealer recovers and kinda stammers "you folded, sir". Guy says "no!". Dealer reiterates his position, explaining what we all saw and heard. A couple players back up this story and tell the guy with no uncertainty that he folded. Finally, with it clear this angle isn't going to work and with a beaten puppy look the guy finally says "ok, my mistake".

That's a new one for me. Just pretend you didn't fold and try to take the pot.

People do that a lot, make sure the cards touch the muck to avoid discrepancy.

Kkick that guy in the balls.

Have you ever seen this ploy come close to working? I'm assuming the guy didn't call the last $25.
