($60+) ShortStack UTG

The following situations come up often during STT's when you are either card dead or have suffered a loss.

You are the shortstack and are UTG with the blinds making up a significant amount of your stack. What do you consider in these particular situations? What if I added a player or two, how does that effect your decision? ATC push?

It is my understanding that taking a -EV push in these situations may very well be the best play because it will be less -EV than future situations.

hand 1, you have over 5 bb, pushing junk (86o, J2s) here is a major leak imo.

hand 2, i'm mostly folding and taking my chances next hand in the bb. you have zero FE.

Re: ($60+) ShortStack UTG

Hand 1: Easy shove because if player 1 folds, it is very possible that you only get called by player two. However, player three will be getting 2.6 to one to call if player two calls so you may be against two players.

Hand 2: Might as well shove. You probably get called by all three players though. Player two will be getting 2 to 1 to call. If he calls, players 3 and 4 will call because of the pot odds. If player two folds, player 3 will certainly call getting about 2.6 to 1. If he calls, then player 3 will also call. I can't imagine that players 1 and 2 would both fold, but you know that player 3 (who will be getting over 4 to 1 to call) will certainly call. That would ok with you because at least you would he heads up.

Hand 1 I push pretty wide, any hand with value really, hand 2 I'm willing to wait.
