Books

As I'm about to place a $50 order on Amazon, and often when I buy books, I wonder if it's a dumb idea. I love the idea of building a library (although mine isn't very impressive or deep right now), but on the other hand, I wonder "I'm not gonna read these again, so why should I spend $10-$15 a pop?"

What do you do re: books? And I mean real books...not reference books (e.g. poker) that you will obviously return to.

i buy. if you can wait a little longer, you can usually find pretty cheap stuff from the amazon marketplace sellers.

I used to buy pretty much everything, but I had copies of tons of stuff I'd never read again, so mostly due to space constraints I've started going to the library a lot more.

By "real books," do you mean fiction? Or do you mean any book that you will likely only read once?

I buy. Nothing better than the smell of a new B&N purchase.

space is always an issue for me and I don't like having a lot of stuff so I'm all about the library. aren't you in nyc? the ny library kicks so much ass it's unbelievable.

I buy from Amazon but I only buy used books. I refuse to pay full price for a book. And all the ones I've received have either been like brand new or been in some form of excellent condition.

I buy from Amazon, but only with gift certificates from PSO. I get a steady stream of referrals, so why not let them cover my various book addictions?

I used to buy, but I'm seriously short on space so now I mostly just borrow from the library.
