Quite the jump in deadlifts [/ QUOTE ] I'm pretty sure I started too low. But better than start too high. |

Re: Getting ripped on Ripptoe log
Squat 175, these are starting to get hard probably not going to be able to go up 5 lbs every workout
Bench 125, I'm resetting down to 115 and going to try and hit 130 in a couple weeks Deadlift 215, getting tough, still going up 10lbs each time Standing Press 100 Pendlay Row 120, pretty sure I finally have good form down Weight: 178 Starting doing chins on my non-deadlift day. Was able to do 8xBW at the end of my workout, which is pretty amazing consider I could barely do 3 before I started Ripptoe. Going to start doing weighted chins. In just 5 weeks, I've gone Squat +60 Bench +20 Deadlift +100 Standing Press +5, but I must have been doing something wrong the first workout theres no way I was doing 95 Pendlay Row +25 Weight +9 |

Re: Getting ripped on Ripptoe log
Weight: 185 (probably due to beer binge last weekend)
Squat: 195 Bench: 130 DL: 265 MP: 105 PR: 130 Think I'm going to take a week off then start Madcow's 5x5 Overall Progress on starting strength: +16 lbs Squat +80 lbs Bench +25 lbs DL +150 lbs MP: +10 lbs PR: +35 lbs Estimated 1RM: Squat: 219 Bench: 146 DL: 298, though I bet its more MP: 118 PR: 146 Appearance: lost some definition in my abs. If I dropped 10 lbs I'd probably have a 6 pack. im probably just gonna bulk until spring break while still staying pretty lean. |

Re: Getting ripped on Ripptoe log
Congrats on the weights. But why not stick with a program for more than a couple of weeks?

Congrats on the weights. But why not stick with a program for more than a couple of weeks? [/ QUOTE ] I did Ripptoes for like 2.5 months, 5x5 for 1.5 months, then the hypertrophy program for 2.5 months. The hypertrophy program was higher volume so i figured i should mix it up. I might do a body part split soon. I believe in changing up to prevent your body from adjusting, makes sense to me. As long as I'm progressing on the big lifts and gaining weight. |
Re: Getting ripped on Ripptoe log
Oh I didnt realize that your log started in June, you only have a few updates.
Part of the gains you will get is sticking with the program. 2.5 and 1.5 months is not long enough, you should continue until you stall and cannot increase the weights and then reload or try something new. Isn't HST 8 weeks and not 10?? |
Re: Getting ripped on Ripptoe log
Yeah, changing programs all the time like that isn't really recommended, but WTF you're making great progress so keep it up.
