Q about Stox\' line
 

I've been watching some of Stoxtrader's videos lately and a couple of times he's taking the following line: He defends the BB and flops bottom pair. He now CR and intends to check the turn. Why not follow up and bet the turn also? A lot of 6 outs hands will call the flop and fold the turn.

I can't find an example (so that we can get board texture also) right now but will post here if I stumble upon one.

I would think the c/r, c turn line is probably because the pot is small enough to where allowing a 6 outer to hit is not giving up much when the pot is small. Plus the turn might be a card where villain wont fold and could be ahead. A WA or WB type situation?

What video # is it? So I can watch it and take a look.

I don't remember the specific hands you're talking about but I'm sure if you post this question on the stoxpoker forum you'll get an answer from stox. This is not to say that I think your post is misplaced here but more to make sure you post it at stoxpoker as well.

he talks about the c/r c/c c/c line in his book. i'd be interested to know what others think about this line.

Yeah, you're probably right. I'll try and post it in there also. I just feel silly since I can't find the hand (nor remember which video it was).

I remember him saying it a couple of times and before the turn card hit, meaning that he would do it on any turn (perhaps barring him improving). It could be the board texture that made it sort of a wa/wb situation though.

This is almost always done in HU BvB pots. I do this sometimes to avoid getting check raised on the turn and to showdown the hand cheaply.

if i bet and he is folding or raising, what's the best line?

If he's betting his draws for me?

seems like it requires balancing by sometimes c/r c/fing air or c/r c/cing draws, neither of which i want to do on most boards.

ultimately this depends on villain's range and his proclivity to bet the turn and the river, mostly anyways.

Like counterspell said I believe this requires that we take this line with other holdings than a weak one pair. Draws for example.

u can only take this line if ur going to cf the turn a lot or else ur easy ridiculously easy to play against
