kinda boring hand, but a river decision

v is stranger

his bet size suggests a VB and it doesn't seem like i can beat much. i copied this hand from my session, but it appears self explanatory. still i am trying to get more in a posting/reading forum frenzy.

does he bet here with a naked J often enough to call? is he trying to save himself a tough decision with an ace? hard to say knowing nothing about him.

you should call if you think it's a 0ev play

My bad, thought we were looking to make the best decision possible instead of settling for one that's okay.

wow dont be so snippy explain to me why i should bet the turn. i wasn't saying you were wrong, i am asking you for advice.

off the top of my head, i would think that betting is good because that card is scary and he has to let go of a lot of hands that are currently ahead of me..which is good.

perhaps i did wuss out

It's a good spot to bluff because he will probably fold Jxhands/pps maaaybe even some low As. Usually any hands that he continues with will either be an A or a pr + fd so you can profitably triple barrel most rivers. it helps that the A is a spade too (cant have AsX)
