Early XMas surprise from Paradise..Ding dong the ban is dead!!!!!!!!!

OK, this is the deal, so take it with a grain of salt. Sportsbook.com [aka Paradise Poker] just sent me an email
reopening my account and apparently offering access to the
poker room. Yes, I am an American citizen.
I chatted with their support and was told that they intend
to offer poker to U.S. citizens. The software is not ready
yet, but they are working on it.
The email they sent offered deposit bonuses and other good stuff.
As of now, I am able to log into the sportsbook, but not the poker room.
Hopefully this is the first crack in the internet poker ban
that has wrongfully brought so much suffering on all of us.

It would help if you post the email.

I guess you missed the part where Sportingbet sold its US facing business to a private investor for $1... the sale did not include Paradise

Dear xxxxxxxxx,

You used to access Sportsbook.com through Paradise. One click and suddenly you were playing at eGaming Review’s “Best US Sports Book” (2005 and 2006), Sportsbook.com.

Now it’s even easier.

Just go to www.sportsbook.com and login using your old Paradise user name (xxxxxxxxxx) and password. Your account history, bet history, everything is still there.

Talk about perfect timing - We’re launching our $100,000.00 Poker Freeroll on Black Friday, November 24th. Were you planning on going shopping? Please. If you are stuck at the mall, we’ll be rolling out more cash freerolls and satellites after Thanksgiving.

And unlike the old days where you had to "earn your bonuses," we'll whack on an extra 20% when you make an E-check deposit into your account. Get 15% for credit cards, Neteller, or Western Union. It all still works at Sportsbook.com.

Can’t remember your password? Call us at 1-800-632-6088. There’s a concept: telephone support. You couldn’t ever call Paradise, but that’s not the only new thing we have in store for you.

You might miss those little drinks popping up next to your seat, though. When you see what we have in store for live Texas Hold ‘Em, we’ll bet you’ll get over that real soon.

Your account is set up and ready. Login, deposit and get back in the action. And if you have any questions… don’t hesitate to call.

Everybody Bets,

The Sportsbook.com Poker Team

P.S. And once your sports bets are in, check out our new games:
Video Poker Side Bet — You get dealt five cards and then can bet on the outcome after selecting your discards. Great way to leverage hand odds, too.

Poker Dice -- A table game without cards. Roll five dice to build the best possible poker hand and win.

Wheel of Fortune — Everything but Vanna and Pat. Roll up your cash fast with this easy to play game. Often feels predictable, strangely addictive.

*Terms and conditions apply. See website for details.

From the site...

$100,000 Poker Freeroll Tournament
When our $100,000 Black Friday Poker Freeroll restarts, you can win a seat to the main event through our satellites on Sunday and Monday nights and you could find yourself playing for a cool $100,000 prize pool. No buy in is needed, just place a $100 wager on that day 's Pro Football games in order to qualify.

The top 20 players from each satellite will advance to the final on ‘Black Friday’, November 24th for a FREE chance to win the $100,000 prize purse.

Don’t miss your chance to walk away $100,000 richer this football season.
Enter the tournament now and play to win! More details to come.

Further...

NOTICE: We are currently working on getting a new and improved poker platform in place and we will notify you as soon as it's available. In the meantime, enjoy our great flash games like 3 Card Poker or play Caribbean Stud which has a progressive jackpot that gets bigger by the minute. Don't forget to try your hand at Video Poker as well.

this has got to be good news. Hopefully this is the beginning and pokersites will realize what a farce this legislation is. I'm optimistic about the future of online poker.

There really isn't any unexpected news here... Sportingbet sold off their US facing business... clearly the buyer was going to open a US facing site.

Re: Early XMas surprise from Paradise..Ding dong the ban is dead!!!!!!

if you recently changed your Paradise password as I did about 6 months ago you may not be able to log in.

I called Sportsbook.com customer service and I had to use my old Paradise password to login.

He said the poker client would be available in the next day or so-definetly good news!

Re: Early XMas surprise from Paradise..Ding dong the ban is dead!!!!!!

So if person A is not in the US and is playing through Paradise and person B is in the US and is playing through sportsbook.com, will they be able to play together? Or will the poker rooms be separate?
