[NL100]What to do with TPWK vs a 1/2 pot donk

4 handed, I raise to 3.50 on the btn with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], big blind calls (no reads), 100bb stacks.
Flop is
5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
He bets out $3.75
I can raise, but that builds a big pot with a marginal hand. I can just call, but that lets him set his price for drawing. If I raise, and the turn is not a heart, I can either bet or check. If I check, and he bets a blank river, I have no idea where I am at. If I bet, and he leads a blank river, I am probably screwed. In this hand, I raised it to 15$ and he folded, but if he hadn't folded, but just called and checked turn, I'm in a difficult spot.

Call, dodge the draws and go to showdown unless he overbets.

Raising sux without a read. You have position. Call and if he checks turn or bets small there, bet to charge draws.

the thing about putting in a raise on the flop is that your equity against draws (and the range he continues with) isn't that good. So call

Whenever you raise and it's not a pure bluff and you really don't want villain to call that raise then you shouldn't raise.

Because we're readless we're gonna assume a standard villain.

That villains' donking range includes stuff like Flushdraw, gutshots, 2pair, sets, Ax, Jx, and maybe worse. You are a favorite vs that range.

Villains' donk/call range is much tighter and you are no longer a favorite in that case.
