Foresight and the Democratic Party

I think this time around the Democrats will be looking further ahead than the next two years. In this vein I predict that they will not elect Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House. Privately I hope they don't follow this plan and do elect her, two years with a Democraticly held House will be more than enough for America.

If the dems can take both branches of Congress, I have just three words....

"President Nancy Pelosi"

:-)

What's up with Pelosi that makes her worse than other people? I have seen her a couple of times and she seemed relatively non-confrontational. Keep in mind that whoever the Dems pick will become a polarizing figure just based on who they are.

From what I have seen, Pelosi can pull it off. She doesn't come off as bad as, say, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Howard Dean, or any Dem party celebrity. Ideally she could pull the same act that Christie Todd Whitman did in Jersey, and look like the victim whenever she's attacked. So who would be a better alternative than Pelosi?

Come on now get serious. Stalin wouldn't approve of gay marriage and probably not even civil unions.

I know you're right wing -- but what is it about Pelosi that you find so irritating? Can you name an example? Would you find any democrat-type (who is fairly to the left) less irritating, or are people like you just a lost cause and they shouldn't even bother trying to please you? In short, why would getting rid of her show foresight?

I am not religious, in fact I am an avid atheist. Gay marriage, I don't give a whit about it one way or another, they can marry farm animals for all I care. Yes, any Democrat would better serve the party and it's future. Perhaps you missed the portion of my post were I stated that I hope Pelosi does in fact become the Speaker.

If she does not I will early retire next Febuary, it will soon be no longer worth working for a living.

I missed the part of your post where you explained why Pelosi pisses you off so much. There must be a reason. Does she just rub you the wrong way? Is it her issues? If she magically turned conservative would you still hate her? Why should this project to other voters?

Jimbo I'm trying to pick your brain but you are making it difficult.
