At what age do you not need to bring ID to buy alcohol?

I think i may have phrased my title wrong but the law states that no store can sell alcohol to anyone under the age of 21 years old. I see a sign on 7/11 that says if you look under 27, you need to have ID with you. I just turned 21 and when i bought alcohol i showed ID because i hate paying and them asking for ID. I take ID and cash out before i get to the register.

I know that if you look old enough then you probably dont need but at what age did you guys not need to bring ID to buy alcohol? I know the law requires the store and bar owners to enforce it very strictly. Of course your appearance would count a lot too.

Do any of you guys who are 25 and up still get carded to buy alcohol sometimes? I am 21 and my face looks around there but I might even look younger to most people. I am asian by the way. Are there any of you guys who are underage or around 21 22 but never have been asked for ID when you were buying alcohol?

I'm 29 and I get carded everywhere but restaurants and places where they know me. I have gray hair for [censored] sake.

there is no law per se (not always true depending on the city), its more of a store policy thing, Ive seen it as high as 35 before. I still get carded once in awhile, if Im buying liquor and dressed like a bum

i hear some states are now printing their IDs on thin pieces of plastic. and here i am carrying around my engraved stone tablet to the liquor store like a douche. such a pain in the ass.

I'm getting asked less and less lately, and I'm only 23. I don't look significantly older.

The alcohol control boards in some areas conduct stings (errr, ummm, excuse me, "test the compliance practices of licensees by sending mature-looking 19 year old guys in to try to buy liquor"). Policies such as "We Card Anyone Who Isn't Using a Walker" are one direct result of that.

I'm 32 and starting to go grey, and I still get carded about half of the time. Hardly ever in nice bars and restaurants, but pretty often in divier bars and liquor stores.

Its weird sometimes. When i buy alcohol in restaurants i dont get carded. Nor do i get asked for ID when i play at the casino. I do dress more nicer though. But last time i went to buy lotto when i was 20, the guy asked me something. I thought he asked if I wanted quickpick but then he said how old are you? In my mind i was like wtf.

Do any of you guys 25 and older also get asked for ID to buy cigs or lotto? I get annoyed when this happens but not for alcohol probably because i just turned 21.
