bottom set check-up

sb is a good reg, i've got him around 16/12 and we've playing fairly straight up i think. bb is a loose donk after a couple orbits.

i raise, making it look a bit weakish, so say to $111.

if he folds, fine, scoop.

if he calls, evaluate turn card

if he reraises then he may have 44 or 66 but so be it (if he is a 16/12 i think he folds 35s oop only max 3 way), i think he will likely reraise with Ax hearts or a slowplayed QQ-AA he was too scared to reraise pf as he was oop and wanted to keep the donk in.

Re: bottom set check-up

actually may not 'likely' reraise with Ax hearts, but im happy to let him call and miss turn and then call a large enough bet that wont give him odds for his flush draw+maybe gutshot. so often i see regulars making bad postflop calls chasing draws that ill be happy to utilise that here.

eww you are just starting to get deep enough to where I feel a little uneasy when I can put all the money in and be looking at 1 out such a common % of the time against this description (good reg, i've got him around 16/12 and we've playing fairly straight up)

lol im not talking about anything crazy like folding though, do what looks the most like AQ, (besides folding LDO)

erm-- ok I hop back on teh fence, you totally own this guy and pretty much the field if you make a reciprocality stack by folding when it gets to you first time around, just can't let him know. some players really are that predictable but I dunno if this guy is.

MMM this was vs me. Im pretty shocked that you have me that tight.

Id imagine that just calling is def best.

Re: bottom set check-up

No way I'm folding but who donks half pot into a PFR and cold caller here? I'm real worried about a made hand better than you and might even be capable of laying down on a heart turn if the bet's big enough.

Maybe not. Heat of battle, set's sexy enough for me to go the distance most times. But I can't find a raise on this flop with this action.

I can't imagine just calling is best. Draw heavy board. Unless you're only leading out with small-mid pairs and sets, this needs to be raised.

Re: bottom set check-up

he could be donking f/d, middle pairs, 76/54 type stuff, or even air since it's a board likely to miss you. tricky spot since if you raise you're not so happy if u get reraised 200BB deep. i think i call and see what he does on turn.
