im watching "the color of money" and it makes me realize how baller being a pool hustler would be... also cite "poolhall junkies"

does anyone have experience in hustling/how do i become a balla hustla4lyfe

hustling pool is very very hard. its nothing like you see in the movies. if you are real good then you are very known and it is way too hard to get action without giving up too much weight.

also finding a good supply of fish is next to impossible for most hustlers.
If you go to the pool hall in my area, it's mostly the same guys playing eachother, and always giving and taking weight and negotiating, so most of them break about even, except they lose to the table time charge. Some guys seem to consistently take the best of it, but they don't get way too much action. One hustler I know scalps tickets to get by.

lol @ the main character not even getting his name next to the other stars.
That movie was awful compared to the hustler and the color of money. The hustler was best imo.

I watched it again recently, and (has been often stated) it's just a great, great movie. Paul Newman, George C. Scott, and Jackie Gleason each gave fantastic performances. I suppose it's a bit dated, but it captures the essence of gambling better than any other movie in the genre.
