We need an \"office life\" forum

For all us workin stiffs. It could have funny topics like annoying things in the office, entertaining office bathroom yarns and funny email time.

We could also discuss srs biz office issues like email protocol, navigating office politics, asking for a raise, reviewing an employee, the possibilities are endless.

gogogogogogogo imo

DDY,

Those topics sound great, just like some funny stuff that used to be posted and enjoyed in OOT. Would be wonderful to have a forum like that again.

Re: We need an \"office life\" forum

Yea, because it's not bad enough I work in a Dilbertian nightmare of incompetence and paper work but I want to read about other people's life in hell. Thanks for making me think about work at home. [censored].

I used to have a real tight group of friends at my old job. We would trade emails, cut up, play jokes, get drunk (after work) and it made that horrible ass pit a fun place to work. Now I'm the boss and don't really have any "friends" at work any longer. meh, it comes with the territory.

anyhoo, "Office Space" FTW.

Re: We need an \"office life\" forum

me and DDY can handle modding this forum imo

the sticky would be something like this:

"I BAN YOU!"

and then we'd do it, OH SNAP

mbillie1 11-29-2007 11:21 PM

Re: We need an \"office life\" forum

in all seriousness though... I've never worked in like, a legit office before, so the office etiquette you all take for granted is somewhat unknown to me. I assume other 20-somethings will end up in similar situations, it could be a useful subforum.

DING-DONG YO 11-29-2007 11:23 PM

Re: We need an \"office life\" forum

fo rls, Mbill! It would be fun and yet srs at the same time.

I have some experience navigating the minefield that is office politics and have hired/fired, supervised, reviewed and been through a myriad of HR nightmares. I think this could work.

could you maybe answer a couple questions about this phenomenon?

how many forumless mods are there?

what is the point of keeping you a "mod" if you don't have any modding to do?

do you have any powers/responsibilities any more?

if there are forumless mods, I think there should be modless forums too (this one isn't a question)

I was never aware that it was tried as a playground topic. Your marketing must have been the siz-uck. We can cover how to effectively sell your ideas in the new forum.

For this forum to work, I think it needs to be fairly loosely modded to allow LC office humor threads as well as more serious threads.

jim and pam are cute together amirite?
mose: retarded or just misunderstood?
kevin's band rocks
andy is the glue that holds the show together
i would [censored] phyllis if paid $_______? (pole)
