10NL - I thought I was going to Valuetown

I have no PT as I have been trying to work on just getting reads and my hand reading skills. Heres the hand I just observed before where villain makes a huge C/RAI (he tables top two).

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.05/$0.10
6 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: $4.70
UTG+1: $8.75
Hero: $10
Button: $3.75
SB: $2.75
BB: $3.95

Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is CO with T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, Hero raises to $0.4, Button calls, 2 folds, UTG+1 calls.

Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($1.35, 3 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $0.7, Button calls, UTG+1 raises all-in $8.35, Hero folds, Button calls all-in $2.65.
Uncalled bets: $5 returned to UTG+1.

Turn: A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($6.1, 0 player + 2 all-in - Main pot: $8.75)

River: 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($6.1, 0 player + 2 all-in - Main pot: $8.75)

Results:
Final pot: $6.1

So with that being said what do you think of this hand? I feel like the bet on the river is really thin if even +EV at all.

what were you hoping to get value from on the river?

Thats why I thought it was so thin. I thought I might get something from 55-88 or maybe a nine if the vill got to the river with something like A9s.

I figured I would of been played back at some if he had a J. Obviously I have only seen him play one hand fairly aggressive after the flop but that also doesn't mean he will be aggressive with just TP.

I think this is definitely -ev. Slow down on the turn, just because this is a rr pot doesn't mean its wrong to check. I think by checking the turn you might be able to get some draws to possibly bluff at it and you have a shot at keeping the pot relatively small when your hand only has some show down value. On the river you are being called by a better hand 98% of the time.
