You might want to watch referring to your abdominal area as your "tummy". Only chicks and small children are permitted to use this very effiminate term.

Re: Dark hairs - shaving questions

I'm researching the costs involved with laser hair removal. Everywhere I go says it's dependent on the region of the world you get it done as well as the areas of the body you treat with it.

From
http://www.hairremovaljournal.org/removalcosts.htm :

AREA / COST PER TREATMENT
---------------------------
Bikini - $350 to $500
Back Hair - $600 to $900
Lower Legs - $600 to $850
Upper Legs - $600 to $850
Arms - $350 to $500
Chest - $350 to $600
Under Arms - $250 to $350
Face & Neck - $600 to $900

"For many patients, three treatments may be enough to provide hair removal for many months."

So it would cost at least $2500 to remove most of the back hair permanently. Damn that's steep!

I'm really surprised no one else here tries to keep their body shaved. I was hoping for at least a few to give some suggestions on what they did.

Shaving is the least effective way of maintaining a hair-free body (only lasts 1-2 weeks, if you're lucky). I'd recomment waxing (lasts 3-4 weeks), or if you can afford it, lazing it off (5-6 weeks).

Damn, I wish shaving could even last a week for me!

I'm looking into waxing and depilitory products (like Nair) at the moment. Apparently I can get a full body waxing done for about $150 and it takes about 3 hours. I've never waxed before, so I'm not going to start with a full body wax. Maybe I'll just get my back waxed and decide from there.

That's what the Phillips Body Groomer is essentially... electric trimmer/shaver for the body.

Ok Ill give u a serious answer. I use to suffer from a similar problem. I am of Mediterranean decent so naturally quite hairy but nothing extreme. I find that buying a beard trimmer and just doing an all over body trim once every 3-4 weeks keeps everything neat.

To me shaving is a terrible idea because razor burn sucks, and the stubble on your legs and chest just look and feel stupid. Plus real men have to have some hair.

Only swimmers and body builders should shave their body IMO (referring to men that is)

I use a level 2-3 barber clippers.

BTW that video in the OP is awesome!!
