Best book on Limit Hold em

Hi
I want to gift a friend of mine a book about limit (fixed) Hold em. He allways deposits 40$ and goes to 3$/6$ fixed limit on Stars. So the book should contain some sites about bankroll management in limit hold em. He also plays limit hold em sit& goes but most of the time i see him playing limit hold em cashgames.

He is playing limit since summer 2006
So i think he knows about the basics and he also has some experience in limit. But i think he doesnt know how to calculate odds
I never play Limit Hold em so i dont know what book could be the perfect one for him.

Off the top of my head, I am thinking Internet Texas Hold'Em by Matthew Hilger.

I don't know your friend so I don't know what would be perfect for him, either.

If he thinks 7 big bets is adequate to play a given limit he may be beyond help.

Isn't the minimum buyin for a 3/6 game online $60?

Is this a level?

This is probably the single best book to learn full ring limit from. You can branch off from here, but I think it gives you the best middle-of-the-road foundation to start from.

For SnGs, Moshman is it right now. [edit: never mind, you said limit, this is NL.]

Does he really make $40 deposits to play $3/6? Is he actually interested in playing better? Most people aren't, ya know.

Allright

ill tell you more about him he had a bankroll on Pokerstars of 7000$ and growing then he lost it all at one night... playing limit 30/60$
Now he is playing 3/6 limit to get back to a "nice bankroll"
but last week he deposited 40$ he joined a 6max table and he rulled it partly by skill partly by luck he got up to more the 250$. I told him now you got a "nice bankroll" get down to the smaller levels of limit hold em and play there with like a quarter of your bankroll but he kept playing 3/6 at another table and he got unlucky and lost his hole bankroll again...

He needs books on money management before he starts buying poker books.

Well I suppose you feel very clever and superior now, so go back in your hole, having done your daily duty.

OP you said he plays limit SnGs, but that graph shows NL SnGs. He should get Moshman's book.

I don't see anything wrong with a player winning $200 in $6 SnGs. That is far better than the average player.

Furthermore, he might not even have psychological issues either - a lot of this bankroll talk is irrelevant, since most players don't really play on a fixed bankroll in the real world anyway. There is nothing wrong with taking a shot. But I suspect he was not really prepared for playing 30/60 skill wise.
