Villian bought in short rather than losing a big pot. I've only played one pot with villian where he sucked out to a turned flush draw vs me with less then 1/2 a psb left. He cheked when he hit then open shoved river.

My first thought when he shoved is and overpair (most of which I beat but he could play AA this way), some sort of combo draw or a set that is afraid I could draw to a flush. What One thing to consider is the last time he flopped a draw vs me when short he didn't shove. I didn't consider at the time that given his pf raise stats he prob raises most overpairs pf. One thing that sticks in my mind is why not c/r allin if he has a good hand like a set? Afraid I'll draw to a flush maybe?

Call/fold? Please explain your reasoning as I'm trying to learn.

Please call. This could be anything from QQ-22 to a naked flush draw. You absolutely crush this range. This is just a quick range but I'm sure there are some SCs + odd unsuited connectors as well that I missed.

My point is that this is not how he played his flush draw against be before.

It's Pacific Poker. Unless players there have gotten a lot better since the last time I played there, this is a fist-pump call. It's a matter of individual style whether the fist-pump comes before the call or the other way around - just do what works best for you.

Can't consider Villain or hero having the straigh (i.e. A-3 or 3-6), and a flush draw for villain is unlikely.

Could be a set or overpair, I wouldn't be able to fold this one, even if I'm sure he has a set. Looking at Hitman's post above, you're beating his likely range so if it is a set, then so be it.

You can discount the FD all you want, but this is way more likely a scared overpair or some type of draw rather than a made straight/set. You can add straight hands + 2 pair hands to the range above but this is going to be a +EV to call 40bbs everytime with KK on this board since there are so many overpairs in his range.
