FYI. There have been plenty of funny SNL skits over the last 2 years. Solid cast, best in years, imo.
It's sketch comedy so you're not going to hit it out of the park every week but the good has definitely been outweighing the bad... finally. |

The Iran song is pretty good - I think Armisen looks pretty hilarious imitating Ahmadinejad - but I do worry a little bit about Samberg getting into a rut of pop star + song = comedy. It's a lot like how the Natalie Portman rap right after Lazy Sunday just seemed derivative and unfunny.
My main complaint about SNL is that there's too much of a tendency to rerun skits and characters that weren't even funny the first time. But I agree with the general sentiment that the cast is strong (I'm not sure there are any real stinkers in it), and I still watch it pretty regularly. |
