$33 deep stack value bet

what is the best bet to make on river? stack sizes are so akward that any near pot-size bet i make is weird. push? bet weak? if he had a high club with a pair he might call a small bet but not all-in. but if he has set or something he might.

Bet flop. You check behind too many flops. Position, Strong draw including overs probably. Raise more on turn, v-bet river.

Why did you check flop when most cards that help you on turn will shut down action?

Rough calc. the pot is about 3k and you got 3.4k behind by the river and villain cover right?

Unless villain is loose, he either got a set here, lower flush or a busted draw, probably the A-high flush draw. i don't see him calling your turn raise with anything else, maybe he got a hand like 57s here sometiems.

If you've seen villain make some loose calls, I'd just push. If he got a set, flush or even two-pair he'll probably look you up. Most players aren't capable of folding a set or a lower flush here, especially if they aren't at risk of going broke, which villain isn't here. He isn't calling any bet with a busted draw anyways so you don't have to worry about that. You might lose some value if he called the turn w the K-high flush draw, and paired the river, but I think that's unlikely.

Re: $33 deep stack value bet

First off, I'd bet the flop.
By the river, I'd put him on either a set (7's?) or the Ac with maybe a pair, not many two pair hands are likely.
Most one pair hands are not going to pay you off anything. A missed flush draw is not going to pay you off anything. However people can't fold sets so I just push--its not a real awkward bet (slightly more than pot) and people automatically like to think those type of bets are bluffs.

Edit: Looks like the words were already taken out of my mouth.

I'll just go ahead and repeat what others have said for emphasis. Next time - bet the flop (definitely a must), raise a lil more on the turn, and push river (any smaller bet is no more likely to be called than a shove IMO).

Why the raise pre flop? It's early on in the tournament and players are going to call. You are just building a big pot with a poor hand.
If you must raise make it around the 140 mark.
