I'd guess rake would be ~200-300 maybe.

Also: One of these days in your travels, a guy is going to show you a brand-new deck of cards on which the seal is not yet broken. Then this guy is going to offer to bet you that he can make the jack of spades jump out of this brand-new deck of cards and squirt cider in your ear. But, son, do not accept this bet, because as sure as you stand there, you're going to wind up with an ear full of cider.

12 (or 24) MSNL'ers wanna sattelite in? I think this would be cool and would fill a spot if needed

I kind of assumed this thing would run in much the same fashion as the other HU tourneys that have been held for MSNL & HSNL. Basically someone trusted holds all the money, then they play a very low or zero buy-in tourney on Stars w/ custom rules for 300bb stacks & blinds that don't go up. The money gets paid out later.

I don't think arranging this as an actual 50k buy-in tourney via the sites would make sense (rake), and I doubt the sites would go for it as well.

So, you're saying that the say way 32 people are going to send Ansky $160K in order to play the $5K tourney (something which, by itself, has never happened before - hey that's a lot of money) that some random 8 guys would send me $400K to hold for a few weeks until the tourney's over? That seems likely to you?

I'll hold the money.

twp i don't know why you're making a huge deal over the holding of the money as the reason why it might not go ahead. the 8 guys who enter no doubt all play with each other every day online and are all reputable. there isn't even a need for a 3rd party to hold the money, they can just settle up at the end.

laziness and apathy from the players is what will hold this back, if anything.

so you're saying that if you were playing and at the end you'd have to collect 50K from BoostedJ, you'd have no problem with that?

Oh, I just picked Boosted randomly from people who I thought might be interested. It could have just as easily been Aba. Just saying that I wouldn't trust anyone to ship 50K voluntarily.

I think it could easily happen.
