*Potawatomi Mid Limit Holdem Thread*

So people got sick of me putting up essentially the same thread every weekend about the status of mid limit holdem games at potawatomi. The solution to that is this thread. Instead of starting a new thread every week, I will just bump this one with new information. I'll change the subject line to state what dates I'm reporting on.

Weekend of October 12 games and last week\'s report

I will not be at the casino at all this weekend (oct. 12). Lately, they've been spreading 10/20 on fridays and 20/40 on Saturdays. If you are willing to play shorthanded and can find a couple more players, the management will most likely spread one of these games for you. They've been very accomodating in this regard. Having said that, I am somewhat skeptical about these games getting off the ground this weekend (oct. 12). I would give the friday 10/20 game about a 30% chance and the saturday 20/40 about a 10% chance.

Last friday (oct. 7) I wasn't there but I heard that the 10/20 didn't get off the ground. The 20/40 on saturday (oct.8) did however. It started at noon and lasted until 5 pm. Another player and I then started playing HU again at around 7ish and within an hour we had a full table. the game played until around 1 a.m.

I don't get it. It's as if you assume midwest players who would play in such games DON'T already KNOW about the Potawatomie games, the quality of play and when the games go. THEY DO. I know exactly for whom you are posting --Illinois players.
Illinois players have played at Potawatomie. They know what the action is like. For example, they know the games you are "promoting" are filled with the toughest of the few local players, who can afford to play those levels. Some Illinois players occasionally play at Pot, but it is obivious most prefer Resorts (Indiana) for higher limit action, because of an abundance of players. There are more and higher "limit" and "no limit" action at Resorts and players who have visited Potawatomie know it.

This isn't true. The games I've been trying to start do not happen on a regular basis and they almost never happen when I am not playing. More people find out about them from talking directly to me in the poker room but people have come up to me and told me that they read it here.

I'm not targeting any particular geographical region...but who cares if I am?

Tough players rarely choose to play with other tough players. If they do do this regularly, their "toughness" is questionable. The games I've been trying to rejuvenate are often quite good.

This seems true. If I lived closer to resorts than potawatomi, I'd probably spend more time there as well (I've never been to resorts so i can't say for sure). But again, who cares? Why don't you let me just waste my own time in peace?

Dorf - I tried to warn you.... people DO care because they feel as if your waisting their time (even though I agree your actually not wasting anyones time). Thats why we agreed to have one master thread, its a fair compromise. But he has a very good point... the chances are slim that anyone who plays at Potawatomie doesn't already know what games are spread but it cant hurt to try.

Everyone else - Dorf doesn't work for Potawatomie , this is not a spam thread - it was pre-approved.

Okay, listen, this really isn't true. In fact, at this point in time I am probably the person who can most accurately predict what mid limit holdem games above the 6/12 level will be spread this friday and saturday, and I'm not trying to brag. Like I said, these games rarely go if I'm not playing in them and people don't know my schedule.

By the way, my predictions are most accurate on wednesdays and thursdays because I spend a lot of time at the pot on tuesdays and can get a sense of who will show up and who won't on the weekends.

Re: Weekend of October 12 games and last week\'s report

The point of this thread is (I would assume) that there are people that prefer to play high stakes games at Potawatomi, but don't want to drive up there (or make plans) if they don't think the game is going to go. Until this year, the high stakes limit games had disappeared. They are come back slowly, but irregularly.

I don't see anything worng with a thread letting people who play ther know how likely the game will get together that weekend.

Because he has some grudge against the Pot. Ive been following his posts for years and that's pretty obvious so hopefully nothing he says influences anyone's opinion of whether this is a worthy thread or not.

It's common sense, if people get a sense that even a few players are going to be there, and they are close by, they are going to play there. Not everyone has time to drive all the way to Resorts if there is another option closer by.

And I doubt any of these people are for the most part "experienced regulars". If they had an abundance of those, they would be running mid-limit more often.

As it is, the way they are doing it is perfect. Even for the person who wants to play every day, if their game is being run at the Pot, they can benefit from the closer drive, and they can still go to Resorts or wherever on the other days.

the 30/60 game seemed to be running full tonight, oct. 16th (tuesday). I was playing NL, but walked by the table numerous times. I threw out a "sup bro" in case any 2+2er's were playing, but didn't get a response. oh well...

What time were you there? I saw that they were running that game, but it looked like it broke around 7 or 8 pm. (not sure when it started)
