I thought we were being friendly

This hand is against teddykgb or something on Stars. I usually play on WSEX so I don't have much of a read on him..a friend told me that he plays nitty though, so we'll see. My Pokertracker wasn't working properly yesterday so I'll do my best to spell it out.

The villain raises to $4 I call with Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]and over $500 behind at NL 200.

$500 for both of us

The flop brings: J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

The villain checks, I bet $8, he calls.

Turn: 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Check,Check

River: K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

He pushes for $484 total

What the?

Do work,

Rob

You think it's that glaringly obvious?

I think checking is okay..

lol folding here is so bad... Seriously he doesnt have AQ here often.. He can have sets or 2 pair here too. Nits can be pretty retarded at times.

He either has whiffed overs or he has an underpair. The flop bet is silly if you're not going to follow up.

I disagree, two pairs??? I think his range consists of AQ and very little else.

Agreed. I call here and bitch/moan accordingly when he has AQ.

It's much more likely to be 33 than KK.

Re: I thought we were being friendly

Yea wouldn't that be a really weird way to play KK on the flop and turn? Are you saying he could play it this way because they're deep?

Daddy Warbucks 11-05-2007 10:27 AM

Re: I thought we were being friendly

Also, seen as nobody has said it yet, you shouldn't be calling in whatever position you called in with Q9s.

Almost as weird as his river play?

He's obv retarded, who knows what he was thinking.

Are you serious? To a min-raise, in position, 250BB deep.

It's a suited 2 gapper against a nit open. Where do you draw the line? Any suited cards? Any semi connected cards? Any 2 cards?

members_only 11-05-2007 10:34 AM

Re: I thought we were being friendly

I doubt he's retarded, he's a tight regular (from OP descrip and I think I've seen him at the tables myself) who at least has to be given credit for having some clue.

Edit: just noticed pf min raise, that is a bit weird

Re: I thought we were being friendly

jesus christ just call and be over with it. This hand is so standard. Also if you got history with the guy, and you havent been bullying his ass out of alot of pots and basicly outplay the guy. Then you did something wrong and you deserve to lose with AQ here.

TheLoon 11-05-2007 10:50 AM

Re: I thought we were being friendly

I think I fold to his huge shove in this tiny pot. You say he is a nit. If this wasn't my read I would call.

Re: I thought we were being friendly

Fold. You need to be correct almost 50% and a nit pushes 250bb in a tiny pot. Wtf at calling. This is what he does with the nuts because the pot is small anyway and you're deep so he's hoping you'll make retarded call. We should also consider AQ is almost as many combos as all possible sets combined, and his line is more consisent with AQ than a set.

and your correct more then 50% here vs sets and AQ. Lets asume this is a misclick a small part too, and maybe KJo sometimes too if hes tilting from another table or something. Or it could even be a super retarded played AA so were getting good odds to call.

Re: I thought we were being friendly

LOL @ call.
i can't even count how much money I did from bad players who
call in such spots where I push like 200BB into small pot with nuts and they call with like 5th nuts or something.

what has that got to do with anything here, we got the 2nd fking nuts. We either call or fold, its not really important ev whise since its so close.

Re: I thought we were being friendly

come on. you hit your hand and want to fold. you have the 2nd nuts. instacall

BobbyLight 11-05-2007 11:31 AM

Re: I thought we were being friendly

I folded. I just don't get why a nitty player would do this with KK or a set; that would just be suicide.

There is no chance he has AA here for somebody who mentioned it.

It's either a misclick or AQ IMO, and I'm not sure if you would misclick like this.

minraise from nit, you have position with a decent hand and are 250BB deep, you have to start calling with marginal hands in these spots

alot of crappy hands. you are getting sick implied odds against a nit when you are deep

You have sick implied odds against a nit? Okay.....

Shizzle12345 11-05-2007 11:36 AM

Re: I thought we were being friendly

its funny tho, if i got a nitty image, i can expect to shove this and only get called by AQ. Sick fold equity.

@daddy: I know of alot of nits who will go crazy with alot of hands they shouldnt go crazy with, with theyr image. They have a pretty good hand more oft.en then a tag or lag.

he's not doing this with a set. this guy is only doing this with the nuts.

Burcak 11-05-2007 12:08 PM

Re: I thought we were being friendly

I think most guys do this with the nuts only without history.

I also don't think it is even close to fold, and that this is either the nuts or a misclick.

BobbyLight 11-05-2007 12:12 PM

Re: I thought we were being friendly

How can this be a misclick? The pot was around $28.

He misclicked two extra numbers and then hit bet?

Can somebody explain the misclick process to me.

Do work,

Rob

Re: I thought we were being friendly

Once I was playing at a table and wanted to make a cont. bet, then I turned my attention to other tables, when I looked back my opponent had requested time, I was surprised but I turned my attention to other tables again, then when I looked back I was all in, I don't know how this works tho.

I guess the mouse wheel mostly, or he wanted to bet like x.yz and bet xyz etc.

I still dont know why I moved all in there. It's pretty rare though. But I sometimes open for 8bb hehe.
