How does this happen? Even at Foxwoods when there is a new dealer they often fan the cards out and do a quick count of each deck. And Foxwoods is horrible.

Maybe i'm wrong, but isn't it possible that the short deck HELPED the players, rather than hurt them, odds-wise?

It doesn't say what game was involved, nor whether the missing card(s) were helpful or detrimental to the player. It's possible that there were disclosure requirements that required the casino to report the short deck, and that they could be fined for improprieties irrespective of whether the short-deck helped or hurt the players.

just was thinking about this in regards to blackjack the other day, has anyone ever heard of a case of a casino removing/adding cards from a multideck game. it seems to me as much as casinos seem to want to avoid having good counters beating their games .... it would be hard to detect and ... well anyways just curious if this have ever come up that anyone knows of.
