Why? It's one of the greatest movies ever made. As a comment on the hollow search to fill a void in all of us (left by the fraudulent concept of some idealized "American dream") with addiction, it is an unparalleled feat of disturbing, depressing, affecting, magnificent art.

The remix trailer Rob links to is pretty funny.

Partially because I didn't know what it was about when I watched it, had just heard it was good and nothing else. So, mindset may have been one factor, but also I found it to be unrealistic and it was much of it was disturbing just to be disturbing, not to move the plot or get across a message.

Also, it is not one of the greatest movies ever made. Personal opinion of the movie aside, it is not even top 50.

Requiem is sick awesome. Its like a cigarette burn imo.

btw The Fountain should be awesome.
