OOT what should I read over Xmas break?

To be honest I stumbled on this forum because BBV4L flames it so much but after I read the James Joyce post with some insightful and impressive critiques I think I can safely post this (you are free to pick two choices):

If you're just looking for some casual reading then I Am Charlotte Simmons will probably be more of a page turner.

If you have read Ulysses, Portrait will be a joyful breeze.

Midnight's Children is a very cool book - Rushdie's best imo. His writing is a lot more playful and fun than you might expect; I feel like the fatwa might give some people the impression that he's some angry revolutionary with an axe to grind against the Muslim religion. Not so.

The Brothers Karamazov is great.
