OFFICIAL Recipes/Meals Thread

Hey guys,

Just got off deployment, and let me tell you it is not easy eating right on an aircraft carrier. That said, I need to get some variety in my daytime snacks and lunch meal. I have no probs with breakfast, I love eggs so I dont have much problem getting in my protein in the morning. I've been in a bit of a turkey sandwich rut for lunch (prior to going on cruise) and Im looking for more variety in both lunch and in between meals (trying to stick to 5-6 small meals a day). I'm not lifting real heavy right now, waiting til the end of the month after we take our physical readiness test.

So please post your suggestions. Looking foward to hearing from all of you.

Cottage cheese and fruit (your choice, I prefer red grapes or blueberries) is an awesome snack or meal. Not much of a recipe for you...

1) 1 scoop vanilla whey protein
1 cup sliced peaches, drained
1 cup water
1 cup Quaker Lower Sugar Maple and Brown Sugar Instant Oatmeal
2) Blend.
3) ??????
4) Profit.

1) 1 cup orange juice
1 scoop vanilla whey protein
1 cup fat-free vanilla yogurt
2) Blend.
3) ?????
4) Profit.

(Taken from Muscle and Fitness magazine - personally I really like the peach one, orange one is just ok.)

kaj,

Thats just the sort of thing I'm looking for, doesnt have to be a full blown recipe. I like cottage cheese with a bit of apple sauce myself.

As far as something quick and easy, I like to marinate chicken breasts in Italian Dressing overnight and grill up about 4 or 5 of them on Sunday. That way I'm set for several days. I'll usually steam some veggies and sometimes nuke a sweet potato and have a pretty healthy meal in no time.

For breakfast, I really like to make it simple b/c I go to work too damn early. Protein powder + 1/2 c. oats + 1 T. natural peanut butter. Put these in the blender with 16oz of water and I've got a meal I can put in a cup and take out the door with me.

Anyone have other quick/easy tuna recipes? I'm a semi-busto college student, so it would be nice to eat tuna once or twice a day since it's the cheapest protein that I know of, but I can't stand the taste. I'm not a fan of mayo, but I'll try the hot sauce some time. Hopefully half a bottle of Tapatio will cover up the taste/smell somewhat.

what tortilla
fat free cheese
grilled chix
FF sour cream
salsa

sweet quesadilla that are delicious and healthy. cook on low temp because using FF cheese the tortilla will burn before cheese melts

Mix up the tuna with a couple egg whites, then cook in a skillet w/ some olive oil. Not sure if it counts for quick, but it's def easy and gives you even more protein.
