Does the winner get home-field vs. the Phils?

I dunno for sure but I would imagine the division winner gets home field.

Josh Fogg vs. Padres:

Michael Barrett: 11-for-25,.440/.462/.960 4HR
Marcus Giles: 9-for-17 .529/.600/.588
Brian Giles: 9-for-20 .450/.478/.850 2HR

I'd put the line at Pads -108, Rock -102. It's Peavy. I mean is freaking Peavy. But there could be some truth to his Coors field numbers. The rockies have much bigger bats though.

Unintended, albeit funny. Good catch.

I don't see how Rocks +132 isn't great value.

Josh Fogg starts for the Rox, on normal rest.

And yeah, he's no Jake Peavy, but the Padres lineup is pretty weak now, with no Cameron and Bradley, and we just swept 'em on the road.

And Fogg hasn't lost since August 22nd. If we get 6 innings out of him, Francis can pitch 2 innings on his throw on the side day, and our bullpen is the best in the NL since the All Star break.

Yeah, the gambloors may favor San Diego, but it's kinda a sucker bet right now.

Personal pet-peeve/nit-pick:
Your argument would have a slightly better chance of appearing credible if you didn't refer to your favorite team as "we"
Unless you play for them or are a member of the Rockies front-office or something then I don't think they should be a "we" for you.

HOWEVER, your argument still isn't that hot:
Not that I believe that the LV lines are always efficient 100% of the time or anything like that. But saying that the gamblors are playing into a suckers-bet by taking Peavy is kind of silly.

Fogg has had 2 mediocre performances among his last 3. He is far from dominating:
Sept 19 vs. LAD 5ip, 8h, 3er
Sept 14 vs. FLA 5ip, 5h, 4er, 4bb, 3k

He had a 4 game stretch from Aug 27 through Sept 14 in which he walked 14 batters in 22ip.
Although he had 0 and 3 bb's in his last 2 starts so may be a little better now.

Peavy otoh is one of the best starters in the game and has been pretty dominating in his last 4.
Combined stats are 28.1ip, 17h, 6er, 6bb, 24k's.

Yes, COL may very well win this game. But Peavy is pretty darned good and saying that SD is somehow a sucker's bet because the Pads offense is so badly depeleted or whatever is kind of silly.
