Transportation from Philly to Atlantic City

Quick question, I am going to be at the Borgata Thurs-Mon this week, I am flying into PHL on Thursday afternoon. Anyone have any suggestions for reasonable transportation from the Airport to AC?

Renting a car is probably only a few dollars more than taking both trains, I would definitely go car.

Renting a car is the best way, by far. Otherwise, take a cab to 30th St. station and catch the NJ Transit train to AC. Buy your tickets from the vending machine in the upstairs waiting area because they add a $5 surcharge if you purchase them from the conductor on the train. It is possible to take trains all the way from the airport terminal to the foot of the AC Expressway, but you would have to use three different transportation systems and is probably more trouble than it's worth for the few dollars you would save.

rent the car. You can not get lost driving. you'll be there in roughly 1.5 hrs from the time you leave the lot.

I would definitely suggest renting a car. Dealing with NJ Transit is such a hassle. I live in philly, and its a 60-70 min drive with no traffic. Transit takes 90-120 minutes. Pony up the extra few bucks and rent the car, it'll be worth it. Good luck

It's also a very logistically simple drive:

Leave Pennsylvania via Walt Whitman Bridge, which puts you directly onto Rte 42 South. Rte 42 is the start of the Atlantic City Expressway, which ends at the Trump Plaza.

There's something to be said for straightforward uncomplicated highway driving.

i say rent as well. i live in philly and usually take the train, but you have to worry about the train schedule and making a flight and travel times etc etc, whereas i dont. rent the car. gas aint cheap, but gas is cheaper in jersey than philly, so fill er up in jersey.

Plus in Jersey they'll shoot you if you try to pump your own gas. Sit in the comfort of your ride and let the man work for you!
