bluff vs good lag

this is against porktom, a v good lag regular imo. he's probably something like 30/27 but i dont quite remember, and i wasnt running hud at the time. we are battling across a few tables. while alot of people think i play like [censored], i think tom respects my play quite a bit. i am up on him alot this session, which may or may not affect his thinking . pf/flop play are whatever. im most interested in turn play (peel with a double gutter?) and river play. stacks are $700 effective.

I dont like it. First of all given this fact you can pick a better spot. Second, after he calls your bet on the turn (which was betting a 100% meaningless card), you fire again overbetting another seemingly meaningless card (unless he has seen you fire pot sized bets on the turn with draws).

Only hand I could think he would put you on would be something like A9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Fold pre-flop. Failing that, fold on the flop! Failing that, check the turn!

i think betting like $270 is better than push, but i like the bluff regardless.

this looks good, his hand looks a lot like a one pair hand that can't withstand a big river bet, and your hand looks like it could be just about anything. If I had to guess, I'd guess he had about 77/88 or a medium 9.

i think this bluff sucks to be honest. i just dont think porktom has any sort of hand that can call this bet though.

yes and no. standing alone, your bluff isn't great b/c you aren't really representing anything from villian's point of view. on the other hand, you picked a very good time 2 bluff b/c of the fact that he has no hands. as a whole I like it, b/c I don't think villian can call.
