50/100 set OOP, turn and river from hell

5-handed, I have 21k Villain covers.

Villain is a winning player who occasionally likes to make big plays that just seem wrong. I have him at 30/22 over 1500 hands.

I'm UTG, UTG+1/CO bought in for an odd amount, little over 9k, and posts.

I make it 500 with 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], CO calls, Villain calls on the button.

Flop 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Pot 1650

I bet 1250, CO folds, Villain calls

Turn 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Pot 4150

I check, Villain bets 3k, I call

River Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Pot 10150

I check, Villain bets 10k, I cry for my mommy and ...

as played you cannot beat a higher set (unlikely), straight (likely), flush (very likely).
I mean he could bluff there since those are good cards to bluff at but it really sucks because your set has basically just bluff catcher value. With the given board I would have prefered a turn bet a lot more. c/c with 2 draws out there screams for trouble. C/R is a possiblity but it [censored] you up as well with 210bb deep. I mean he won't come over the top with a hand with less than 76% equity most of the time.
I don't see too many air hands that he calls on the flop and bets the turn with without showdownvalue and bluff bets that big on the river.
Kinda weird to value bet anythin worse than a set in this spot.

Guess this is a fold unless sick history.
Anyone disagrees ?

Yeah its him, why, u saw the hand go down?

I'm not really following the turn bet. I mean I'll probably have to fold to a raise, or check-fold riv if he calls. I figured oh well hand's gone to [censored] I'll try to boat up/snap off a bluff.

That's a perfect flop to check raise. Looks like air / draw. If he has 77 or 65, ohh well. He might 3 Bet shove some draws/66 by the way u describe him. As played, fold and slap urself.

Seems like a pretty poor spot to checkraise given the board texture. You really don't want to give a free card and villain is going to semi-bluff raise your cbet quite a lot. Also since when is a c/r on this flop consistent with air/draw?
