This is a $4/180 tourney that I started up for the hell of it. My first instinct in this hand was to just reraise big or at least push after the reraise push by te short stack but then I thought (overthought?): It is the first level, I can probably outplay my opponents at this level in the long run, I should give some credit to an UTG raiser even at this level, if I miss the flop I am out of position and if I am sharing cards with others who come along with the action I am a much bigger dog than a coin toss and I wonder what FE I have at this level. I am also unafraid to see a flop multiway since I don't have a vulnerable pocket pair. So... I have reasons why I played it this way but I still feel so... unfulfilled (and the outcome has nothing to do with this feeling).

Help me...

Is this a joke? You have over 1600 posts and don't know what to do in this spot?

The answer is jam preflop...

1.It's early you have a good hand and need to accumulate chips.

2. By pushing you eliminate your positional disadvantage.

3. There is so much dead money in the pot.

4. When you jam it will thin the field and push out the other draws.

5. You are only in bad shape against AA and KK.

6. You are 2p2 and that's the way we play AK in your situation.

7. It's a 4/180, if you lose the flip, start another one.

First mistake is not 3 betting preflop yourself. Did you really want to flat call out of position and play AK in a 5 way pot and only see 3 cards? Repop it to 350-400 preflop.

As played I think you've gotta shove here. BB is probably looking at a range of JJ+, AK if he's a thinking player. If UTG had a big PP he would have more than likely pushed over BB's 3 bet. I'm not worried about the other callers of the initial raise. With all that's in the middle, put it all in.

Jam PF if you want a coin toss (vs a PP)... with the exception of running into AA/KK, but in this case, it doesn't look like anyone had that...

He may not be thinking "properly" but he's thinking *something*. Whether the thinking makes any sense is still up for debate. A HSMTT player (the name escapes me at the moment) made a post about this topic a while back with a golf analogy. Our analysis probably won't change the final action we take, but thinking through the situation in more detail prepares you for higher buy ins and more thinking players in the future.

the bb is ai there is an overlay this is an easy shove to go heads up.if called you are drawing to best hand and can win a huge pot.

Loose nails it with his analysis. You push all-in, especially if UTG doesn't (and didn't) re-raise the BB. If he's playing cutsie with Kings or Aces in this situation, then hopefully you suck out on him enough to cure him of that kind of goofiness in the future.
