Extremly standard situation, what is the optimal river play?

Villain is a nit, I am a nit. So although he could call preflop with AQ, I think he dumps it most of the time. Do we push hoping to get a call from KK or the unlikely AQ. Small vbet and call a push? Flop is superdry so he has a pair+ here always, I guess he could have decided to put me on AK and call flop with a JJ or lower, but he wont be calling anything else with those hands.

Guess the problem is that my image is probably so nitty that KK is a pretty tough call for him here, since he beat nothing when I push river.

Check feels like extremly weak sauce though.

A nit still probably bets the turn to ensure full value from a set I would think. If they're the kind of nit likely to go "down with the ship" with their big one-pair hands you can shove, if not go the small value bet and call push option.

This is too nitty. You cant wait for him to bet his KK.
Get it in there, if not on the turn, push the river.
He might also call with JJ, AQ. People do weird things.

I like the turn if your plan was to check/raise AI.

Since you missed that, this is an easy bet. He won't bet JJ/AQ for you, but he might call. KK is always calling a value-bet imo. I probably bet half pot and call a push.

[/ QUOTE ] I like this line. A smaller value bet on the river is gonna get you a call from KK and probably JJ/TT/AQ. Def call a shove.
