Read a book in Vegas
Vegas B&M'ers - where is you favorite place to sit back and read a poker-book?
I'll start - Lake Las Vegas. One of the best kept secrets in Vegas I have found. |

Re: Read a book in Vegas
The break room at work, seriously.
Honorable mention would have to be seconded with Lake Las Vegas. YTF, yes, Sunset park is still there. www.lvrenfair.com is about to take place this weekend too! |

Sunset Park still there? [/ QUOTE ] now thats a good idea! I will go there this week to check it out. What about in the evening, I assume Sunset park isn't good for reading after sunset. |

Re: Read a book in Vegas
Another spot I liked was that little parking lot on East Sunset, on the airport perimeter fence, that you could park and watch the planes take off and land right in front of you.

Re: Read a book in Vegas
I've seen that little parking lot on Sunset a few times and figured some day I'll bring the camera and stop and snag a photo or two, but it never occurred to me to sit and read while enjoying JetA fumes. Is there some other allure to this spot?

Re: Read a book in Vegas
Nope, no other allure. I just find it fascinating to see, up close, a big metal thing that weighs hundreds of tons lift itself off the ground, then safely land again--with people in it!
Also, something fascinating about seeing a point of light in the eastern sky grow bigger, and bigger, and get closer, and what do you know, it's an airplane! It was on the horizon a few minutes ago, and now it's right in front of us! And it's loud, too! And there's a long line of those dots coming from the eastern sky. |
