Villian is standard tag. I'm assuming villian has some sort of draw or combo draw here. Am I best shoving now, or potting a safe turn? (I know my cbet should have been a bit bigger)

You're going to be in a weird spot if a heart hits the turn.. the pot will be about $290 and you will have $300 in your stack. I guess if villain shoves the turn you won't necessarily, but what if he doesn't?

I dunno, the 3x raise pf smells of KhTh or T9 or alot of other non-premium but good hands to build a pot in position with. Villain will be getting good enough odds to call with most draws if you shove the flop. I'd go for it.

If you plan to get the money in on a "safe" turn card anyways, I don't see a reason to not 3bet the flop. As you already said, your cbet should be bigger without question.

Anyways, I don't think a fold is too bad in this spot. You can't put villain on KT, he might have AhJh of course but the rest of his range has you crushed. It is not unlikely, he has a pocket pair JJ+. And as it not possible he has AhKh, you don't beat much more than a bluff. If we had reads or stats, this might be a different thing of course!

there's no way in a million years I'm folding this flop barring reads. This is a straight or flush draw, like always.

We have Ah. Definitely need a bigger Cbet here.

Umm, no. Your tiny flop bet sucks bad.

yeah I get that, but I dont think it changes the hand too much in this case.In fact it makes it more likely that I'm up against a draw because its easier to come over the top of my bet.

I agree your flop bet sucks because it puts you in such a weird spot. Bet more and you're probably committed. Bet small like you did, and you don't know weather villain is bluff raising based on your bet size or if he flopped something good.

You need to have a plan before you bet this flop.

Re: $400 AQ TPTK

well lets say I bet 80 and he RR to 160. Given that, using my amazing assumption, that I decide he's on a draw. I guess its a basic odds question (which is why I'm posting it in SSNL) - am I better to shove the flop or bet/call a safe turn?
