how are Canadians with USD assets reacting to the $CAD surge?

So I know there are quite a few Canadians around who play alot online, and as such have significant USD capital. Is anyone more tempted now to keep a shorter BR and move away from the :USD? It seems like it would've been a great thing to do a few months ago, but now I'm not so sure... It seems like CAD has been really overbought the last few days, and it feels like just about the worst possible time to be selling USD... not to mention I'd hate to take the exchange hit to buy CAN and then have to reload on a few sites and switch it back.

How are 6-figure bankroll-ers dealing with this change? Is it affecting anybodies behaviour? Should it be? I'm pretty financially ignorant but this seems like something I need to be thinking about.

i've been crying myself to sleep. 90% of my assets are in us dollars, and none of them are liquid. i think i'm just going to ride it out and hope things are better in 5-10 years.

I have co-worker whose student loans are still in Canadian dollars. US dollar devaluation + interest has increased his principle by 10% even though he has been making sizable monthly payments for the past few years. Brutal.

Your forgetting that many CDN's buy US stocks also. So if they bought a stock 4 years ago they have lost about 8% annually on the dollar drop. Great time for CDN's to scoop up bargain US Stocks

exchange exchange, the CDN will def go higher than par on the USD atleast for the short term. No idea whats going to happen year+ down the line. Alot of labour jobs are being lost in Canada, and they are pressing the banks to get the rate lowered.

Hehe, now the Canucks can't rip off US casinos anymore by using their quarters in our slot machines...
