Re: 200 NL - Some Hands

HAND #1

That is a short stack that should either push or fold (if competent). and a 45/27 is limping w/ such a wide variety of junk...but it is most likely suited junk. could be a pair + FD, weird OESD, or smaller overpair than you.

If this is a competent/good short stack (i.e. understands the power of fold equity), then I would fold to the min raise because that suggests a monster & a good shorty would push w/ a draw for fold equity.

HAND #2 -

Clear call w/ an OESD + a pair on that board. the outs for your set may not be clean if you're worried abt villan having JJ (or worried abt an overpair since his 3bet calling range is probably wafer thin), but the outs for the OESD should be good...you've got both 8s so it's unlikely you're up against a made straight that is bigger than yours. plus you're getting almost 6:1 pot odds. easy call.

HAND #3

Why check turn w/ a FD on the board? I would have gone to value town on turn (1/2 PSB) & river (2/3 PSB).

Re: 200 NL - Some Hands

Hand 1: Call and assess turn. If he bets strong you should probably fold. If he bets fairly weak I like a min-raise. The raise is two fold. If he pushes over it you can fold with ease as you are always beat. He'll also call it often with hands you beat (hence it squeezes some value) and will often call with non-nut hands that you don't beat and check the river to you thus buying showdown at a fraction of the price had you gone into call down mode.

Hand 2 : Bet turn usually for around $30 - folds out some hands that you can't beat (bluff), protects if he has a hand that you are still ahead of and, crucially, puts his float to bed. As played reluct-a-call the $10.

Hand 3: I prefer to bet the turn in this hand but if you want to try and induce a call from a lesser hand then this is fine. That said I believe if you are going to sell weakness you should really go to town and check this river to him a fair bit. I think he'll value bet you thin allowing you to a) at least get that value out of him and b) possibly more if he calls a raise out of curiosity at your strange line.

Re: 200 NL - Some Hands

Just realized s/s in hand 1. Makes my min-raise suggestion a little pointless probably. Thus if you think he's weak on the turn and committed himself then I'd push - he's crap so he'll call light when that invested.

Re: 200 NL - Some Hands

Hand #1: Shove. He's an idiot and a half stack. You're way ahead of his range.

Hand #2: Call. You're almost getting direct odds to call here, not to mention all those times you actually have the best hand.

Hand #3: Pretty well-played. IMO, he probably has AQ (or the same hand as you). If you think you can three-street value AQ here, bet the turn.

Re: 200 NL - Some Hands

hand 1: shove. easy shove w/ those stats

hand 2: call. he's giving it to you for cheap why not take it

hand 3: i think you played it well. maybe value bet on turn but i like the pot control

Re: 200 NL - Some Hands

1. shove
2. call
3. standard for me

Re: 200 NL - Some Hands

1 and 2 seem fairly standard (shove and call)

In H3:

-We are c/r'ing the turn, correct?
-If the river is an offsuit 2, we are c/r'ing the river, correct?
