$16 - KK on @$#$% A-high flop

Would you cbet here?
I suspected him to take this line with either a weak ace or mid pair (including 8's and 6's).
If not, what's your play on next streets?

Btw UTG was 41/20 over 150+ hands.

maybe bet 400 and be done with the hand if he calls. you could also check and try the same on the turn.
i think your gonna lose a half pot bet or a little more anyway if he does have an ace so you might bet yourself to protect your hand.

There is no point protecting your hand (whatever that means). You want value from the hands you beat, and I wouldn't give villain enough credit to fold Ax.

I would check the flop, maybe call down a small bet, or value bet the river if it's checked through. If you have 150+ hands on villain you should have accurate stats on their aggression to help you decide whether to call a bet.

ummm, obviously there is point to protect your hands in case villain has an underpair or any kind of draw. he can easily have 20% or more equity here. there is less use in it if villain would try to bluff if it is check through to the river and you might snap off a bluff.

I like checking behind here. It's a WA/WB situation and a cbet commits us to the hand. If we fold, we are pretty wrecked for chips (we'll have around 500-600, which should be avoided). Call small bets on turn and try to get to showdown as cheap as possible.

cbetting because you put your opponent on an underpair doesn't make any sense to me. Also, what draws are in villain's range?

This is a very, very easy checkbehind.
Really no point in betting.
We have to call a reasonable turnbet, or c/b again.
If he bets turn and river, we fold.
If he checks turn and bets river, we have an easy call.

villain has donkish stats he could have a lot of hands here including draws and pairs. you want to bet to fold those obviously because a hand like 89 has about 20-25% equity against us and will probably cost us an additional bet if villain hits on turn or river. also if villain isnt a total retard he wont start betting with those unimproved.

Re: $16 - KK on @$#$% A-high flop

You put 89 in his range and then assume he's NOT a retard?
