Poll... Which Demographic fits you ?

I am taking a poll of the B&M forum many of my threads recieve some good feedback and also a large amount of negative feedback.

The purpose of this poll is to get a demographic on the B&M posters

I would like to determine the amount of people at 2+2 who feel they are Borgataites

My definition of an Borgataite

1) Must have a nice plush room with large bathroom, 100 channels, good room service etc.

2) Do not care about game rules... (exa) 6/5 on a blackjack 345 odds etc

3) Would rather be around other well groomed people

4) Always have to stay at the "New and Shiny" places

5) Money is of no concern

OR are you a Govman like grub

1) The Cheaper the Room the more money you have to gamble

2) The less the Buffet costs the more you have to gamble

3) Shows..... I only go to the free lounge acts so I have more to gamble.

4) You hate sitting next to a guy in a suit talking about his stock portfolio

5) Busch Beer and Keystone Light taste the same as Hinieken, Becks, Hefeweizen.

6) If the dealer hits on a soft 17 and pays 6/5 on a blackjack you wanna hit him.

There is no reason to call my poll retarded.
This quote was pulled from your AC poker room managment reply.

I only have experience at the Borgata.

It seems you take much offense to the word Borgataite.

I say it in jest as a term to describe people who only play in nice places and want the best for themselves.

I don't mind that you take offense and hope in the future we can have a good and working poker relationship.

That being said even though you did not vote I will mark down you as being a Borgataite.

I may be wrong about 2+2 because it seems after only 5 min the cheapos are up 3 to 1.

I think you have to factor in more than that. I mean if you are coming into a place like Atlantic City for a weekend just to escape your weekly work routine and home life, it's nice to put a nice shirt on and go to a nice clean place to just release yourself. You want new and shiny, you want new and big. If you go all the time and grind out tables and you know everyone in the place by first name, all that doesn't matter. Everyone comes into AC for different reasons and has different expectations.

No I take offense at stupid polls. Here's what applies to me: None in the "Borgataite" choices (3 I prefer non-smelling people but I play in jeans, sweater, and generally without shaving that day)

From the "Govman" grub options: none. I haven't stayed in a hotel yet in AC.

Its a stupid poll because its the equivalent of a 12 year old asking: "Does your Mom know you are gay?".

At low limits I find it hard to believe that games are very different from one place to another. My ratio of happy fun profitable tables at Borgata is high. The one time I played at the Taj I was at a grumpy, mean, profitable table, and I have heard this is common from a number of people.

I didn't know Borgata had different blackjack rules, but since I don't play blackjack it doesn't effect me. In fact none of your descriptions of either option are related directly to poker, so once again: its a stupid poll.

Re: Poll... Which Demographic fits you ?

The poll does not allow for the spectrum of tastes and opinions most people have. For example, I like staying and playing at the Borg and the Wynn, but I won't play a 6/5 BJ game, no matter how naked the dealer is.

To answer jjshabado's query, the only 6/5 games I've seen involve hand-dealt games or female dealers in bikinis, Hooters outfits or bunny costumes (unconfirmed, I'll find out next week, but I don't know why the Playboy Club would be any different).

Getting back to poker, my thought always was, and why I can't understand the OP's complaints, new and shiny meant tourist fish players, yes? I mean, maybe they're bragging about their mutual funds and [censored], but you're taking the money, right?

Re: Poll... Which Demographic fits you ?

I my case your poll is flawed. The MRS picks the hotel and it better be new and shiny. I don't play BJ or go to shows and if I am traveling alone, cheaper is better or even better is a nice room at the Shoe in Tunica for $25 a night and free food.

I don't have any complaints Never did the purpose of an internet forum is to start discussion.

This poll is being taken too directly I think most "normal" people see what I'm trying to accomplish it's just good old fun.

B&M cardrooms and casinos are not just about poker it's about lifestyle and other casino games.

Like JJ said he sees a craps table and he thinks they are playing yahtzee.

Now as a frugal gambler who despises the concept of a 6/5 blackjack game... Vox if bikini girls are dealing and they are hot I'll play in a even money blackjack game yeeeeehaw

Re: Poll... Which Demographic fits you ?

For what it's worth it depends. If I am with some buddies, the cheaper the better. If my wife comes along, I need some nice things for her to do while I am playing. And she generally dislikes all things dirty.

Re: Poll... Which Demographic fits you ?

Yeah it really depends on why you go where you're going, who you're with, and when the last time you were there was.
