Pretty basic second pair hand (happens a lot)

I always get into these situations and I never know where I stand...
SB is 28.9/12.7/1.61/over 600 hands, so not that strong.

Full Tilt 0.25/0.5 Hold'em (9 handed) Full Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG calls, MP1 calls, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, CO checks, Button calls, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (6 SB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(7 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">SB bets</font>, Hero ?

What do i do here with 7(!) players in the pot? The other players are a nice mix of calling station, one TAG and some weakish others...

This reminds me of another post earlier in the week, ur position is pretty horrible here esp with 5 more to act. Also u have to discount the 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] cause it's likely that someone could be on a fd therefore u can only rly count 2 outs for ur 8's.

We're gunna be up against so many hands that can out draw us as well as being in a horrible rio spot (ie A9/K9/Q9/J9/T9, the last 2 not being as bad but still got us beat!)

So long way round it's an easy fold.

I'd just let it go right now. you might be beaten already, your outs are tainted, the pot isnt big and you may well get stuck in a raise war and even if you hand happens to be the best right now youll be losing by the river often.

Also u have to discount all the 8s as they complete oesd/flush draws.

You have 2 outs, with a TAG yet to act. If you could see what the rest of the field is going to do before you act, you might be able to call closing the action or some such, but as it is you're dun.

Fold, for all the reasons previosly mentioned.

I'd also like to point out that as much as ppl speak about position is key when deciding PF, it is also paramount in deciding what the best play is postflop.

Personally I like to take into account my position relative to every other player in the hand first before I decide what my play is.

yup ur right boz, with 6 other players in the hand JT is a big possibility it could be possible we are actually drawing dead!

Edit: I suck @ grammer!! someone give me another word for possibility?

I'm folding. This is one of those hands you need to have a plan with when you see it is dealt to you. What kind of flop are you looking for? I'm looking for 2 pair or better, or a str8 draw. You can't really do much with what you have after this flop, so I'm done with it.
