Re: KK - Ace on flop

1) Buy in full
2) Your preflop greed is astounding. Make it $1.50.
3) $2.50 or check post flop. I probably check but taking it down here has advantages.
4) Probably best to give up after being called.

is the turn bet for value or a bluff?

I'd raise a little more preflop, at least to $1.5. Maybe to $2 if I think that will get any action at all.

The cb is good.

After that, I'd check the turn instead of 2nd barrel. With a board like that, any broadway pair has a set except for you and JJ. AK probably won't c/f. AT/AQ are certainly possible. I suppose you suspect a spade draw and bet the turn to protect your pair of kings, but I'd probably give up fighting for this one and check the turn.

As played to the river, check behind and see if he missed a draw or not.

That's not the best turn for a double barrel. I probably check behind on turn a call a modest river bet.

I'm inclined to check the flop because you have the K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

Your bets are all good except for the sizes; they all need to be bigger especially pre.

I think the turn bet was your best move during the hand, it is perfect for the double barrel, he could be drawing here...(straight or the flush) so why give the free card? Plus if it goes to showdown it shows you are not afraid of betting your pp just cause a higher card hit on the flop.

And, I think this is important, because you bet turn vil is more likely to check river, where I would check behind because of the A on flop... If a spade hit or a card that would complete his hand and he bets out just fold.
If he had the ace, oh well... You kept the pot reasonable and controlled everything.

Thanks for all the comments.

Re the turn bet:

With the spade draw still there should i let him have a free card?

I was thinking that he's called the flop with implied odds for the flush draw, then checked the turn hoping for another free card.

Should I bet here as a second barrel or risj the flush completing?
