.5/1 HU NL Pretty Deep

The guy I'm playing HU is an absolute lagtard. He's checked down 47os after raising pf and cbetting a dry board. He's also a pow. Not sure what to do on the turn, I floated on the flop since I've been able to lead on the turn and TID. New to HU so I'm not real sure what the right play is here.

He showed his hand, it's in white below...

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 2 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

Hero (BB): $328.20
SB: $191.90

Preflop: Hero is dealt 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero raises to $3.00, SB raises to $10.00, Hero calls $7.00

Flop: ($20) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB bets $15.00, Hero calls $15.00

Turn: ($50) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB checks, Hero bets $34.55, SB raises all-in to $166.90, Hero folds
Uncalled bet of $132.35 returned to SB

Pot Size: $119.10 ($0.50 Rake)

That is actually pretty standard.

How often does he 3b from the BB?

I think pre-flop is a fold against most 0.50/1.00 opponents.

I think the flop is a fold against most 0.50/1.00 opponents.

Wow, results surprised me. Make a note and stack him next time.

I know you were floating and all, but I think you should check this turn.

I totally agree with this. Your gameplan against this guy imo should be to make a hand you're willing to go broke with and then find a way induce a push from him. Short of that, I'm gonna let him take control of the betting for the most part. In this spot I think a turn check would be great to induce a bluff on the river. Hitting the jack on the turn sort of ruins your float plan as you now have lots of SD value. It also really sucks to get c/r like you did.

FWIW PF is a turbo-muck for me.

Betting the turn is awful imo. Check behind and play for potcontrol. If he checks to you on the river you can descide whether you want to valuebet or not, personally I wouldn't.

EDIT: I fold this pf unless I'm tilting.

He three bets a lot...especially out of position. He's shown down bad non suited connectors such as 4 7 and 5 8os

this seems like the type of guy you probably don't want to float

just muck preflop once he 3bombs you. J8s OK, J8o not ok in that spot.

is this directed at me? J8o doesn't connect with the board very often, it's in the lower half of hero's raising range, and most of the hands it flops can't take any heat, so why should he feel any hesitation about tossing it?
