odd ball play in 5CD PL .50 $1
Tell me what went on here.
Player #1 raises $1.50 BB re-raises $1.50, player #1 calls and BB raps pat. Player #1 raps pat. BB checks, player #1 checks. BB shows small straight, Player #1 shows AAK47 What are the players thinking? |
Re: odd ball play in 5CD PL .50 $1
#1 raps pat because the chance for him to get a boat or quads by drawing 3 is about 1%. He figures that by rapping pat he may see his opponent's cards for free.
BB doesn't bet post draw since he figures his small straight is beat. |
Re: odd ball play in 5CD PL .50 $1
Of course this is the wrong play because you'll make money if you hit your miracle draw and there's no way you could call a bet post draw anyway.

Yes, you are probably right.
I thought there might be a point for the aces to rap pat, in case the BB is on a steal. BB may be discouraged to keep up the bluff if he is facing a pat hand. On the other hand the aces fail to represent a straight or better since he does not reraise... |
