Spouse Account

Has anyone ever had any problems with you having an account, and your spouse having a separate account?

I've never had a problem on either Stars or Tilt with this in over 2 years, have made deposits/withdrawals etc. on both accounts with no issues.

My Gf has an account. No issues. On some sites you'll be prevented from playing at the same tables.

You'll need independent payment processors but that is about it.

Its a rather long story and chain of events, but basicially, I opened an account for my wife, I Played with her and helped her learn poker (she has never played before this), she won the weekly TLB her very first week on stars, I thought this rather odd at the time, since I had about an 8 month run of no wins at any level, so I questioned it, admitted that I helped her play, which at the time, stars had no problem with. So I then 'helped' teach other family members how to play on their own accounts. Again, they all did very well the first days or weeks of playing. I still on my account could not win a $1 sit n go. So I posted about it.

Stars security called me about the posts and what I said, they also closed my wifes account , and said she can play on my account. Now, its really not allowed to play anyone else's account, And that they were making this exception for her because of my admitting to sitting and helping her play. Im still not understanding as to why, it is OK for her to play my account, yet I was warned to not play hers?. Anyway, you asked.

Re: Spouse Account

Hello Mike,

Thanks again for the time at the telephone. As I explained, please reply
to this email acknowledging the consequences of any future infraction to
our multiple account policy.

In simple terms, just keep using none but your own 'cigardad' account and
there should be no further problems. With the exception of your wife, it
is also very wise to avoid anyone else play on your account, especially if
that someone else already has a PokerStars account. Like I explained,
therein lies the issue of account sharing. Please visit the following
link for further details (especially in section 4.2):

http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/room/tos

Any future infraction to these terms may result in permanent suspension of
the accounts involved. If there is anything else we can help you with,
please do not hesitate to contact us.

To Andre's credit, he was very friendly, and spent a lot of time talking to me about my concerns, and trying to convince me, that I am just UL when I play on my own account, and must be lucky on others and in live poker. So I now just caulk it up to 'variance', and continue to lose my butt as cigardad for what is almost a year str8 on this current run, But at least I understand that its me, and something I must do on that one account, for that, I must thank Andre, and pokerstars for convincing me that there is no way it is not a fair shuffle and the same for all players.

Now, I just make up the loses playing live, and getting loans from my winning family members who never played poker till I helped them open an account. Cheers

For what it's worth, here is Ultimate Bet's response:

Thank you for contacting us.

Also, in order to protect our players, we do not allow username changes. This is because it is the most important way for other players
to recognize you at the tables.

Exceptions will only apply when there is an error upon registration or another extraordinary circumstance.

We will appreciate your understanding on this matter.
