What is my plan vs this opponent? Do I call and take advantage of my position or do I 4bet?

I'd think you either need to 4bet or fold - if you call here, do you really want to play AJo (even with position) - on a dry flop? Have does villain play postflop?

I can play devil's advocate here - if you 4bet, do you really want to call a possible push with AJo? Maybe, but overall i'd say you can pick a better spot against a 36/33 than AJo...

Given stack sizes, I call with a plan to commit on any J-high flop. Whether you commit on an A-high flop depends on whether villain 3-bets with hands worse than AJ... but if you don't commit with AJ in a RR pot on an A-hi flop, you shouldn't call preflop in the first place...

3-8 theorem formerly known as 5-10, says you can call 3% of your stack based on positional advantage, and not more than 8%, and in between 3-8 is a grey area. So you'd be calling $2.50 which is more than 10%, so don't call. I think it is closer if you are OTB and villain is SB here, because more of a chance they are 3betting light. In that case, I sometimes call here and float flop, sometimes 4bet. But I think folding is best here due to size of 3bet, and b/c you represent a stronger hand opening from UTG than from anywhere else, so this should be the tight end of a loose 3betting range.

Links to the 3-8 rule please? Never heard of this before.

I'm also pretty sure the 5-10 was designed for calling pocket pairs for set value and playing suited connectors in position.

Nice flop. Wanted to slowplay my hand vs him with his stats. Thought he would bet the turn quite often here with worse hands aswell as better hands so I didnt want to push the flop. Perhaps I was lucky. Please critique this play.

Please don't slowplay this flop. The flushdraw is out there and you give villain the right odds to draw by calling his flop bet. It is not too bad because you have the nut redraw, but in any case, I certainly want the money in at the flop. I push flop or make at least some kind of big raise and stick the rest of my money in on the turn.
