Live 1/2 NL; Gotta have heart right?

FR 200NL

Stacks
Straddle Villain ~ $60
EP ~ $150
Me ~ $200
Most others have ~ $125-175

S. Villain is super LAG, hes short stacked and has been pushing crap preflop every 2 to 3 hands and he shows, stuff like 33, QJo, A9o, KTo, 97s etc etc. Won't really fold preflop if hes put money in.

EP is passive but probably tighter than the average live donk.

Hero has 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] MP

Preflop:

Villain puts on live straddle $4 to go, EP calls, folds to me in MP I call, rest fold, Villain exercise his option and goes $17, EP agonizes and calls, Hero shoves.

My Thinking - I originally called the live straddle hoping lots of limpers behind me. If I flop a set against a top pair, its almost a guaranteed $100+. I was actually I bit surprised no callers behind. Villain's raise to $17 literally means nothing, he's doing it cuz hes the straddler. EP's agonizing call to me seems like a weak hand A2s-ATs, ATo-AJo, any 2 face, pairs smaller than TT (I assume TT raises). I figure theres no way EP would call the push, and I'm only in really bad shape against 99.

Shove good move? spew?

Thanks

I think it's a fine shove. Villain won't fold for his remaining ~40 and it's pointless to play after the flop with people like this when they are so short. There's a very strong chance that you have the best hand so iso'ing him here is fine. If EP is as tight as you say, then he'll muck his 2 over's or underpair.

Villain usually rolls something like J7 of hearts here and spikes a J on turn.

I agree, although I thought I played the hand a bit awkward. You think its better to raise big the first time around?

LOL I try to refrain from posting results as my posts are not intended to be BBV ones... but you're almost spot on!

Villain showed J6o, MHIG (EP folded KTs face up)
