2/4 live unbeatable?

Ive read many posts on how the 2/4 casino game is unbeatable. I just dont see it. At foxwoods (my local room) the max rake is $4 if you get to the river. Tips arent an obligation but i give up a dollar on the big ones.. Ive had no problem building a good stack with all those things against me just playing straight up limit.. nothing fancy. Obviously I havent conducted a large sample so i guess the real question is why do people keep saying 2/4 is unbeatable.

I know it seems high but as a side note im averaging 4 to 5 bb an hour and these games are shockingly loose.

2/4 is very beatable. Just don't expect to get rich playing it. Tokes and drinks add up.

The rake is Draconian, however, and you should move up as soon as you can.

Christ. 2/4 is beatable. The point is that it's not beatable for enough to be worth playing. See this thread, where no one comes even close to saying it isn't beatable, just that it's not worth it when you can play two to three times bigger for not much more initial investment.

BTW, I love your work on Ghost Hunters.

A retired frined of mine told me in confidence that he played 2/4 since 1990's and has won about 40k over that period - I believe him. He plays about 15 hours a week. That is 2-3k a year or something like that. He now plays 3/6. He is very rich and does not need the money - it is his hobby. Another fellow that has been playing there for 60 years used to play 2/4 and now just plays 3/6 and is quite happy to win $40 a day. Of course before 1987 they played lowball etc.

I say unbeatable. Even in an unraked game I say this is an impossible game to beat it the long run. You will obviously have sessions where you win, but you will not be a consistnet winner at that level IMO.

2007 2/4 personal stats - 75 hrs. +$812 = 2.7BB/hr.

I'm gonna be a little harsh this AM and state that the people who complain about the rake @ 2/4 would rather blame the rake then review their play and take responsibility for their results.

On this board, as a standard for live play, 1-2/BB/hr. has been repeatedly represented as a "winning standard." Results higher than that may be variance. An interesting note, this "standard" appears to remain the same regardless of the level of play, 2/4, 4/8, 9/18, etc. IMO, it appears that as the impact of the rake decreases as you move up, the quality of play increases, and these two competing forces roughly offset each other in terms of their impact on an overall winrate. Otherwise, how could the 1-2BB/hr. winrate remain roughly constant across levels of LHE? Thoughts? Or is my helicopter beanie screwed on too tight this AM?

No because its 4 bucks! and they already have 8 bucks in the pot! lol I have NEVER heard of a good self respecting player playing 2-4LHE and cleaning up the tourists. And the guy who said an old guy said he has made 40k playing 2-4LHE ...... I mean I cannot even describe how unbelievably gullable that guy has to be to believe THAT story. 40k in 2-4LHE REALLY? really? I mean really?

And he said this guy is rich (they ALL are at the casino man-so they say anyway) does this add up to you guys? A rich guy who likes to play poker goes to the poker room everyday for THAT many hours and decides to play 2-4LHE like A ROCK!? lol

I cannot even describe how funny this is to me right now.

No offense intended honestly, but wow.

10 handed 2-4LHE with a 2 BB. IF everyone at the table played the game like a 10-20LHE guy plays the game they will lose. IF everyone at the table played the game like it was a 2-4LHE game they will lose.
