Do AP have a license to operate?
 

As I understand it AP are no longer on the list of Permit Holders

Thus it would appear to me they are operating without a permit/license and thus illegally?

I was not sure where to post this but I thought it was an important legal matter and I did not want to to get buried in a big thread, although I may mention it in there too.

I though in particular people who play at the site should be aware of this as they appear to be playing on an unlicensed site???

lol welcome to the wild wild www.est. why do u think they operate "off-shore". just another psychological ploy to fool people into thinking "oh, its licsenced it must be legit". TRUE POWER IS IN NUMBERS. The top site is up for a reason, if it were cheating and unreliable and there were better alternatives then players would migrate away. true survival of the fitest, got to love pure Capitalism.

However the terrority in which they operate from, according to their website, requires the site to have a license/permit and they don't seem to have one.

OK the terrority has a 'strange' status, (it's in Canada, or whatever), and I believe the Canadian police ae looking into the matter also.

There has been some 'friction' between the terrority and the Canadian government before I believe, so I doubt the Canadian government would be too please if they are allowing
unlicense gambling operations to operate in a terrority which has dubious legal status anyway.

I believe the terrority recieved some international sympathy in the past when they had problems with the Canadian government, however I doubt they would receive that now if they are allowing unlicensed gambling to operate. Especially if some of their citizens have been ripped off.

And lets face it Canada has a bigger army, the purest form of capitalism.

Did you realize that an NATVIVE INDIAN territory is its own entity, not subject to ANY of the juristictional laws. You can slip on a bannana peel placed there on purpose and break your neck inside their casino and have NO standing to sue. THAT is the reason the AP servers are located on INDIAN territory and so called "owned" by Joe Norton. Look it up, INDIAN TERRITORIES have a very unique legal arrangement because they were technichly there BEFORE the imposing governments around them.

The legal status of the terroritry is pretty unclear.
Saddam was there before the US army moved in.

Sure the Canadians will tolerate it if it keeps it nose clean, but if it is believed to be running dodgy gambling operations that might meight be a different matter, especially if a lot of Canadians have lost a pile of money at the site [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

Out of boredom about a year ago I went to the KGC site and I think I saw a reference to a firm which was allowed to operate gambling servers there during the application processing period. They weren't listed as having a permit, as I recall, but still could run gambling during that process period. Maybe when you change key personnel or change owners you have to reapply and you fall back into that status. My memory is a bit hazy, but that's how I remember it. BUT the real answer about whether that is a possibility is in their amazingly heavy duty regulations. I'm too lazy to read them, having skimmed them recently, but you might be willing to do that. Maybe they talk about pending stuff in them.

well UltimateBet is safe they have the permit it has it on KW website link.

UB has always been legit and safe.
