NL 25: AKs UTG

Hi guys,

No reads/hands. How would you play this? Is this an easy fold pf? What about my flop check raise? I'm 40% against a range of 10+. Do I have ANY fold equity here, or is this a dumbass move?

Thanks guys,

friedace

This is very standard. FD in 3bet pot=AI (especially with strong overcards).

Yeah, I really wanted to get it in because I didn't want to have to fold if I missed on the turn. Plus, a pot-sized raise was $18 anyway.

Is calling PF standard or spew?

Thanks for the reply.

should be fine at NL25. Opponent dependent at higher limits.

I think you played this fine.

His likely range is QQ-AA,AK. It might be as wide as TT-AA,AK,AQ. If all the money goes in on the flop, he will fold the missed overcards, which is fine for you since you get all the money already in the middle. And he probably calls with TT-AA against which you have 46.948% equity. If he only has QQ-AA in his range, then you are actually looking better at 48.472% equity if all the money goes in on the flop. Although I haven't done the math, I'm sure the money already in the pot is more than enough overlay to make it +EV even if he turned over KK, for example, and showed it to you.

As for preflop, since you will have position on the guy reraising, I think calling and seeing both the flop and what he does with it are better than pushing or folding in this particular spot against a player that you don't have much history with.
