$200 Max 1/2 No-Limit Strategy Question...
 

Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this matter....

I am a winning no-limit small buy on-line player
$10 Max, $25 max, $50 max online player 50,000+ hands 15.38 BB/ 100 hands.

Venturing into the live games here in Detroit, playing the 1/2 $200 max game

Asking for some input...
The $200 max game usually has either massive limping, 50-60%, unraised pots... OR the bring in is usually $15-$20...
The game traditionally never has an opening raise for less than $10 (5x BB)
and often the "standard" opening raise is $15 (7.5x BB). So the play is like limp or raise $15 into a $1 small and $2 BB... Seems like a gross raise.

My initial assessment is to "tighten" my starting requirements, and re-raise or open with this "standard ($12-15). Or Getting in on the limp festival when in late position and try to flop a killer.

The game seems loose when all the limping is going on, and all pre-flop when the raises are $15 - $20...

How would you all approach this kind of game?

If you are winning 15PTBBs over 50000+ hands no one here is going to tell you anything you don't already know - or do you mean 15BBs i.e. 7.5PTBBs. If so then you're still an excellent micro player, should have moved up long ago, and should know how to exploit the fishy live game.

Your live opponents are generally going to play as bad as $10NL save a few exceptions. Limp with with your suited and unsuited connectors, small pairs and other high cards. Raise your good hands the standard open of 12-15. This is mainly for value as you'll receive plenty of action from weaker playing more than willing to give you action with hands like K4s. Most of your profit in a game like this is just going to come from relentless value-betting. Against most of your opponents trying tricky plays can be -EV as it will be lost on them. Overall play a solid game and get your money good and you'll do fine.

Using poker tracker...
My options are BB/100 hands average
or BB/Hour

What stat is PTBBs ?
And how to compute?

Under the preferences tab, you'll see the option "Treat 'BB' as for NL/PL As Big Blind Amt."

"By default, Poker Tracker treats the BB amount for NL and PL games as 2 times the big blind amount for the table. So, if you are playing at a NL table where the BB is $1, then the calculations that PT uses for BB/100 hands and BB/hour totals would use $2 as the bet bet amount. Some users have suggested that they would prefer that Poker Tracker just use the big bet amount by itself and not multiply it by 2 when doing these calculations..."

ok just wanna get this straight... when someone posts stats on 2+2 is it standard to have that BB box in the preferences tab checked or unchecked?

I have found that live gmes like this no one considers the blind and a standard raise being 3 X the BB
I would play loose preflop and tight post flop
Test the water and see if a $20 or $25 raise gets any respect an make that the standard raise and think of the blinds being $2/$5
Generally live play at this level is alot worse than online t this level
If you are limping into lots of pots most of the table will think its the norm and wont really notice how loose you are

Equals 30.76/100 (When the box is checked)
Either way, I am doing ok, and want to move up...
The $200 max $1/2 Live game looks easier live than the same game online - hence my forays into live poker.
